Acid Reflux Remedy



 

In essence, acid reflux is heartburn. Many people regularly suffer from acid reflux and thus there are many possible remedies for it, though not one thing in particular seems to work for everyone, but one thing is for sure, many are seeking an acid reflux remedy.

Some of the standard “answers” are not truly answers. This includes things like “just lose weight,” and “don’t eat so much.” Ordinarily those are not really remedies as the situation may have gone on for a good while, and thus the acid reflux may have already become chronic.

One remedy that is easy to accomplish and requires no special medication nor creates a difficulty to try it is to stay as straight as possible in the seat while dining. This is important, as in this manner the food will not be stopped by bad posture that twists the stomach. Food will go down more naturally, and will be helped tremendously by the digestive process instead of creating dreaded acid reflux.

Some people have found that remaining seated after a meal and never laying down until at least an hour has passed giving the body a chance to go through the digestion process a bit before taking to one’s bed has been a wonderful acid reflux remedy.

Others swear that blocks that raise the head of their beds at home have made digestion much easier, thus they consider the blocks an excellent acid reflux remedy. The standard remedies are to chew your food thoroughly, do not take large bites of food, do not drink at the same time as you eat, and other such remedies. Again, some work for some, and not others.

There are a lot of acid reflux remedies that concentrate on preventing acid reflux rather than trying to remedy it after it occurs. For instance, do not smoke as that hinders digestion.

Do not drink beer as it will create more stomach acid than anything else, then the acid will need to come up in order to equalize the stomach. Do not eat large meals, but instead eat 4–5 smaller meals spread out during the day. One remedy that has absolutely no bearing in fact, is that acid reflux will be completely avoided if one does not ever eat spicy foods or drink coffee.

Many people feel that stress gives them a lot of heartburn and therefore it cannot be emphasized enough that if you are stressed to the point of being sickened by your food, it is more than time to relieve some of that stress.

Going for a walk and communing with nature is a good stress reliever, as is any exercise. Do what you feel is relaxing when coping with stress, whether it is crossword puzzles or jumping out of an airplane.
